These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a contract between you and NoteHero for use of the NoteHero app, website (notehero.et), Telegram bots @NoteHeroBot and @NoteheroAIbot, and related services (the “Services”). By installing the app, creating a Telegram login session, or otherwise using the Services, you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy.
1. The Services
NoteHero offers study materials (including PDFs, quizzes, Super Notes, and flashcards), tools such as a GPA calculator, optional local multiplayer quizzes, Telegram bots, and paid premium unlocks. Features may change, move behind a paywall, or be withdrawn.
You access an account through Telegram. We do not issue a separate email-and-password login. You are responsible for the security of your Telegram account.
2. Eligibility
You must be able to form a contract under Ethiopian law. The Services are intended for university and college students. If you are under 13, you may not use NoteHero.
3. Licence and intellectual property
We grant you a personal, limited, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the app and materials for your own study. Lecture notes, quizzes, Super Notes, trademarks, and software remain our property or the property of the respective rights holders.
You may not copy the library for others, scrape or bulk-download content, reverse engineer the app except where Ethiopian law forbids that restriction, remove watermarks, or sell access to NoteHero materials.
4. Premium, payments, and refunds
Some content and features require a paid plan. Prices are shown in the app or bot at checkout. Payments are processed by Chapa and by local methods we enable (including Telebirr and CBE transfer verification). Receipt photos, if requested, must be of your payment.
- Premium and AI credits are for one Telegram user. Sharing logins or tokens is not allowed and may result in termination without refund.
- Unless a payment provider or Ethiopian consumer rule requires otherwise, fees are non-refundable once access is delivered, including if you later delete your account.
- Deleting your account (see section 8) ends remaining premium time. We do not pay that time back.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Attack, scrape, or overload our servers or other users
- Upload malware or illegal content
- Impersonate NoteHero or mislead others about payments
- Use the Services to cheat on exams in a way your institution forbids, or to harass anyone in multiplayer
- Circumvent premium locks or download gates
We may suspend or delete accounts that violate these Terms, including by blocking the linked Telegram id.
6. User content and feedback
If you send feedback, you give us a royalty-free licence to use it to improve the product. Do not send confidential exam papers you are not allowed to share.
7. Third-party services
Telegram, Google Firebase, Chapa, and network carriers have their own terms. Local multiplayer depends on your LAN and device permissions. We are not responsible for outages of those third parties.
8. Account deletion
To delete your NoteHero account: open the app → More → About → scroll to the bottom → tap Data requests, which opens https://notehero.et/account/. You must acknowledge the warnings, wait for the timer, confirm in Telegram, and type the confirmation phrase. Logging out, uninstalling, or clearing storage does not delete the account.
After deletion we remove personal profile and session data as described in the Privacy Policy. Payment records needed for tax and dispute handling may remain.
9. Disclaimers
The Services are provided “as is”. Study materials may contain errors. We do not warrant that content matches your current syllabus, that the app will be uninterrupted, or that premium will always include the same files. To the maximum extent permitted by Ethiopian law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, NoteHero and its operators are not liable for lost marks, lost data, lost profits, or indirect damages arising from use of the Services. Our total liability for a claim relating to the Services is limited to the amount you paid us for premium in the three months before the claim, or ETB 500, whichever is greater, except where Ethiopian law does not allow that cap (including liability for fraud or death/personal injury caused by negligence, if applicable).
11. Changes and termination
We may change these Terms by posting a new version at https://notehero.et/terms and updating the date. Continued use after the update is acceptance. We may stop offering the app or a feature at any time.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. Courts in Ethiopia have exclusive jurisdiction, except that we may seek injunctive relief elsewhere to protect intellectual property.
